Auro-Scholar

Auro-Scholar, India’s pioneering K12 micro-scholarship program, offers millions of students access to curriculum-aligned quizzes to improve their learning outcomes, encouraging self-learning and building merit in every student, and we are proud to introduce the first-of-its-kind app that offers access to microscholarship against curriculum-aligned quizzes validated by ACER( Australian Council for Educational Research). We are committed to instigating a profound shift in the approach to schooling, and as such we collaborate with teachers to cultivate integral and experiential teaching methodologies within their educational ecosystem, with the ultimate goal of improving learning outcomes of K12 Students and building merit in Indian Students. At the heart of our program lies a radical approach: Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of up to INR 1000 per month, a powerful incentive designed to catalyze substantial improvements in learning outcomes.

4 Steps of the Program

Sensitisation and Training of Teachers

Teachers are oriented to identify the symptoms of learning difficulties through an online course which has 17 modules based on audio-visual content in multiple languages. Each module has approximately 4–5 videos each, along with assessments, additional reading material and module assessments at the end. A final assessment is conducted after completion of the course.

Screening

Teachers are supported to screen students who have functional difficulties in the domains of cognition, academics, communication, speech and language, behavior, sensory, socio-emotional and motor abilities through grade-specific screening tools.

Remedial Teaching and Specialized Interventions

Team experts provide support in bridging the gap between State Resource Persons and School Teachers and help in implementing the Intervention Plan in relation to the case studies submitted by the teachers. Through this, teachers, parents and special educators will be able to address students’ target behaviors effectively.

Qualitative Impact

The quizzes are academically aligned and are validated by ASER. This makes the scholarship benchmarks credible for the students and the donors alike. In addition, technology is leveraged to correlate effective capital use with proven student learning growth for disbursal upon 80% achievement. 

  • Transparency and accountability of donors’ funds: Auro Scholarship offers transparent donor fund allocation via direct transfers. The impact is direct and measurable at every stage, facilitating valuable feedback from them. The defined structure makes it easy and direct for the student; transparent and gratifying to the donor. 
  • Teacher Effectiveness: Due to large teacher-student ratios and considerable learning gaps between students in a class, Teachers are unable to work with weaker students in the limited time available. Auro Scholarship feeds student weak area data to Teachers (and also students), using which Teachers can work on the child’s weak areas as well as personalize the learning immediately.
